    Default Kingfisher scape

    Shot at lotus pond, hyderabad.
    canon 60D, canon 100-400 L IS USM
    f7.1, 1/100sec, ISO 500, 400mm, eval metering, cropped heavily.
The noise is slightly on the higher side, but I like the perch and habitat, so just couldn't resist sharing!

Nice perch. The habitat looks nice. Wish it was closer.
Once I had to crawl on a bund with water flowing over it, to get closer to a kingfisher. I had nearly 100 images taken from across the small lake till I was 6 feet from it. Sometimes it is worth the effort. This is the link to the image I got at the end - http://www.indiawilds.com/forums/sho...ght=kingfisher

    Thanks for sharing.

It seems you are getting better day by day in habitat images.Although lot of negative spaces on the top drawing the attention away from the bird .It will be nice to see some close up images of this beautiful bird.TFS

The habitat images are looking better. The shutter speed was low. Still you can try a few images with narrow aperture as the kingfisher often sits motionless.
