That is a big big difference in thought process. And I don't blame you or other newbiesfor that.

An artist creates art for himself or herself. He/she paints, composes, sings or
photographs for himself or herself.

It is important to have your own vision. Originality is important. There have been thousands of photographers following the path you are suggesting, without success. One can't change a person's approach. The only thing I would say is follow your heart.

It may have been hundreds of times, but it has been done because many people think it looks good that way. End of the day, most of us try to make pictures that will impress and impact the most number of viewers.
