An Endemic Cat Snake found in Andaman Islands, India.
Lovely image. Striking pose, eyes, nostril, vivid details inside the mouth, body scales well documented.Large cat-like eyes with vertical pupil indicate that it is nocturnal. Rear-fanged and semi-venomous.
I am happy to find that Sameer Bhai has entered the fascinating world of snakes. Please study about venomous snakes of India, particularly their identification and behavior. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild
P.S.:Have you got any other picture of its head?

Hi Sameer,
Nice one. Is that a rod or bamboo? Some more space at the right and top would have strengthened the composition. Posting details of camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed, ISO and amount of crop etc would help us in critiquing from a photography point of view.
Some more details about this snake will help us know better. Look forward to more of your images from the andamans.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

Its a bamboo, and its a cropped image. Wil send the details as many possible from next images.

Nice image Sameer. What agitated the snake? Did someone lift it with a bamboo? I am sure you would not have disturbed the snake but I have noticed many who for a good shot bother the snake so much that it almost bites them. Thanks for sharing.
Thanx,
Snake was on a small bamboo branch
