Nice behavior captured. Good eye contact. I would have liked some more space on the top and on both sides. Using a higher ISO would have helped to get a higher shutter speed to freeze the wings. Thanks for sharing.

This is the original. This is a wider canvass. There is perspective because of another bird. As regards ISO there are lot of feedback about noise on 7D. 100 is noiser than 160. 320 is less noiser than 200, 250..... These days I am careful.

I agree that the original looks better. The shutter speed was less.

The internet is full of half truths and outright lies. The reason being the experts are too eager to dish out advice which they have heard from somewhere. In one of the programs, Asha Bhosle was taking a dig at the singers who are every ready to jump into limelight even before they have completed their learning. So take all advice with a pinch of salt.

The first focus ought to be on the sharpness of the image. If an image has less noise but is not sharp, then it will directly go to the trash bin. So use whatever shutter speed is required to get a sharp image.

If the light is too bad, then simply sit back and enjoy the scene.
