Lovely head turn and eye contact. Nice catch light on the eye. Moving the camera just a bit more to the right to remove the hint of the twig on the left frame would have been nice. I would like a rectangular framing than the present square one. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with Mrudul. And the eye contact is nice. Did you use multiple layers? The bird outline is sharply etched like a cutout.
A lot of Americans follow the bird in the stick approach where the background is blurred. After a while every body's image looks like the same. In contrast to the americans, the approach of the europeans is to focus on showing the habitat. During our formative years, the buzz word was "f8 and you are there". The focus was to get the habitat clear and establish the relationship between the subject and the environment.
You may try and get the image of birds in their environment with sufficient depth of field. There would be many distracting elements. That is the challenge which the photographer has to overcome. Master that and you will become a good photographer.
