Cute bird. Nice eye contact. There seems to be some highlights on the chest area, you can try to recover them in post processing. Please post the EXIF details with the image, to help in commenting. Thanks for sharing.

I think the whites have got completely burnt and doesn't have details. So recovering is not possible.
When the bird is far off, it becomes easier to overexpose a certain area. So keep in mind shining surfaces, wet surfaces, white bark of trees etc. If time permits, have a look at your image preview in the LCD. When you check an image the overexposed areas should blink giving you an idea.
