    Default Gaur Mother and Child

This image is from my last trip to Bandipur National Park. We sighted a herd of 12 Gaurs. There was a calf staying close to its mother and trying to stay out of sight in the lantana bushes. It slowly came out and stood next to its mother.

    f/4
    ISO 800

    Full Frame Image. Critiques welcome.

Nice portrait of the mother and calf. The vertical composition works well here. Good eye contact. It would have been good if the ear of the calf was included fully. Good details and sharpness. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful vertical compo though a wee bit tight all around. Lovely details even at low shutter speeds.

    thanks for sharing

It is a good idea to go vertical here. I agree that a bit more space would have been great. That is the challenge of having a prime lens. Why not use the 5D III in this situation?

    Hi Sabyasachi,
I should have, but I didn't change as the calf stepped out only for a little bit. Should have anticipated better.
