    Default Common Leopard

Got this at Karnala Bird Sanctuary some weeks ago.

Here's some info ( from Isaac Kehimkar's Book of Indian Butterflies):
Restless, swift flier. Territorial. Found at the edges of forests, on the plains and in gardens. Fond of flowers and damp patches. Active throughout the year, but more common during the pre-monsoon and early monsoon period.

Camera Model Name Canon PowerShot SX10 IS
    Shooting Mode Aperture-Priority AE
    Tv (Shutter Speed) 1/200
    Av (Aperture Value) 5.7
    ISO Speed 200
    Flash Off
    Photographed at the telephoto end.
Cropped. Played around with the levels.

    Thanks for looking, C&C welcome.

Good image. But seems there is detail loss... Big crop is it?

I agree about the detail loss... The thing was some 15-20 feet away... and since it landed and sat still, I wasted no time and clicked from where I was. Then it flew off again... So yes big crop.

Nice colours and composition. Wish the stick was not there in the BG. Would have loved a closer photograph. Better luck next time. Thanks for the info.

    Keep posting..

I would always prefer a leopard (panthera pardus) over a common leopard.

Colourful butterfly. I am sure soon you will find one close to you.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
