What a stare... The bamboo behind seems to draw a bit of attention.
Nice shot, great pose. The water dripping from the chin looks great.
The bamboo looks like it has been put there on purpose...?
There were bamboo clumps nearby, but am not sure about this one. The bamboo looks dead and may have been placed there. No idea. This was in 2005. So I have to look at the other images to see if I can get any further clues about it.

Nice pose. Liked the eye contact. As mentioned the bamboo is a bit distracting. Light on the face adds to the image. Sharp.
