This is from my 2005 files. Two tiger cubs in Bandhavgarh Tiger reserve, had come close to me and were near me for about an hour and twenty minutes. They left the place when another gypsy reached the place.

Canon EOS 10D, Canon EF 300mm f4 L IS USM, ISO 100, f5.6, 1/45, slight crop from top and right.

A perfect potrait.

The problems of Bandavgarh are reported to be manifold these days.

It is said that the predators seldom get time to hunt owing to excess tourism pressure in the day and virtual take over of the area by poachers in the night.

Tiger status in India is becoming too critical and needs immediate focus - nothing name sake would help.

Sariska and Panna like disaster is imminent in 6 other tiger reserves and 16 more tiger reserves suffer severe administration problem (admitted by Rajesh Gopal himself while he was in Chennai for a conference).

Dhudwa, Buxa, Iravathi, Similipal, Namdapa and Dampha are in horrible state and the tiger numbers are reported to be terribly low.

Emotions alone is not going to help. We need to augment out courage, determination and focus if we need to make any difference. There are several fileld biologists in various areas who have collected vital data and have made valuble observations.

As a first measure those data need to be brought to light and shared. Let us attempt to bring some of the information to this forum for sharing.
