Default Elephant herd on the back waters of Kabini

I shot this with Canon Lens 17-85mm, during that time i did not have the 100-400mm lens.

The wide angle shot shows the overall habitat. At times we try to use our long telephoto lenses and forget about creating an environmental portrait. I like the composition with the bamboo bush at the left. It stops the eyes wandering out of the frame. I wish there were a few clouds in the sky as that would have been more dramatic. What is the white thing on the bank near the right side? Some garbage?

    Hi Praveen,

Good enviornment photograph. Liked the composition. Thinking that if you can crop a bit from the bottom, more focus will be on the elephants.

What is the equipment you use? Do post the camera and the lens details along with other details like aperture, ISO, shutter speed of the image. That will give us some idea about the settings and help to comment better.
    Regards,
