Hi Nikhil,
The composition is nice. I like the patterns on the rocks. The diagonals in the image help strengthen it.The focus seems a bit off and on the rocks than on the body. A higher aperture would have helped here.

Nice action captured. Its good that both are facing in your direction. Agree with Bibhav about increasing the aperture for more details. Thanks for sharing.

Watching such a small cub is a lovely experience. The high ISO performance of D300 is not as good as that of D3. So I would not push it to the ISO 1000 levels. There is loss of details in the image. Did you do any noise reductions? Were you shooting handheld or tripod, beanbag etc?
