Love the light and the frozen water spray. A bit more space on top would have been better. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely image Mrudul, it is always a treat to see elephants in water. The splash of water is with high pressure as if a motor and pump is connected to flush out water

Why is it spraying water outside

It always is a treat to watch elephants and that too if they are in water.

This image has come out so well.

Elephants lack sweat glads and hence they seek water almost twice a day during peak of summer without which they tend to become very tired and even famished. Unfortunately, most of their well watered habitats are now gone.

To waste water when it is plentifully available (during rains) and effeciently poach for rest of the year from forests is human strategy to cope the summer leaving creatures like elephant in despair.

Restoration of lost rainforests (for extending monsoon period and improving water catchment)and connectivity of corridors are very vital if these beautiful creatures are to survive considering the rise in temperature year after year.

Short term conservation remedies won't work..

    Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks all for the comments.

Praveen, it was spraying water left-right, some of it was getting thrown on the body and the remaining to the plants .

Lakshminarayanan, I agree because of humans all these animals are going to suffer. I hope we take some serious steps.

Nice image. The water jet has come out nicely.

Elephants have huge ears. Flapping them helps in cooling the blood flowing through the veins.

We humans haven't understood the value of water. How many houses have leaking taps? May be every alternate house, if not every house. Big cities are now waking up to the reality of lack of water. The posh colonies in Delhi have to buy water. Infact, the greatest impediment to India's growth story would be the lack of water.
