    A zitting cisticola with nesting material in Joka marshland near south of Calcutta on Sunday.

    Shooting Mode - Aperture Priority AE
    TV (Shutter Speed) - 1/100 (tripod mounted)
    AV (Aperture Value) - 8.0
    Exposure Compensation -1
    ISO Speed - 200
    Focal Length - 400 mm
    White Balance Mode - Daylight
    Camera - Canon 450 D
    Lens - EF 100-400
    Crop Percentage - Zero Crop/Full frame

    Good that you got this small bird close to you. The eye contact is nice. The 'V' of the branches from the bird well. It would have been good if the beak hadn't touched the branch. The f8 aperture has given good depth of field. I wish, you had got higher shutter speed. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice perch and eye contact. An off-centred composition would have been good. I agree about the shutter speed, slightly increasing the ISO would have helped. Wish the light was on the birds eye. Thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for all the comments. I didn't have too much time to react to the situation. I would have loved a faster shutter speed too.
    @ Praveen - PF pipits are much larger than Zitting Cisticolas. They are approximately the size of house sparrows - 15 cm. The cisticola is much smaller at 10 cm. I have seen both umpteen number of times to know the difference.

    I like the composition. The perch and the grass on top frames it well. Using a higher ISO to get more shutter speed would have been nice. The habitat is shown nicely. Thanks for sharing.
