    Default Injured!

Shot this Sambar at Zone 4 in Ranthambore, not sure if the injury is due at an attack or for some other reasons. Expert comments welcome, Let's hope it will heel soon...

Nice composition. Liked the way it is treating the wound. Looks like a fresh wound and quite deep. It might be caused in a fight. Thanks for sharing.

Composition is fine. I am not sure how this Sambar got away. It has escaped and will survive. Tiger uses its fore paw to trip the Sambar. However, this wound is slightly higher and deeper. Can be the work of an adolescent tiger. I am not sure if there were any other injuries to the Sambar. The only other animal capable of such a deep wound would be a sloth bear.

    Cheers,

That is a nasty gash. It can fall prey if it doesn't heal soon. The bottom of the image feels desaturated. Or is it the natural colour of the grass?
