Very often we see elephants and especially tuskers with their tails cut off. The local wisdom was that they were bitten off during a fight. I did not know what to believe till I saw this. These two were indulging in some juvenile fun and games .

I didn't knew about this tail chewing thing. Ofcourse, the juveniles do lot of funny things. Good documentation.

They were not juveniles just behaving like them ! here is a shot showing the two of them. ( I am posting it in the same thread so that people can see their true age ). This is not a serious fight. These two were seen together in the same place for about a week and were always playing around. They seemed to be having a grand time in each others company.

I thought the tail was bitten off in a play fight by juveniles. It would be tough for them without a tail.
