I decided to post this in the landscape section as it conveys the mood during the late evening in Kabini.
Your image exif details: ISO 400, f5, 1/1000, 32.5mm. Centre weighted metering.
This is not a faithful reproduction of colours in the sky. I wanted to show that a dramatic sky helps. For landscape shots, the metering has to be done according to the sky. In this case the metering was centre weighted metering. To correctly bring the mood, I reduced the exposure by 1 and 2/3rd stops. You can also make it - 2 stops. Now it looks dark and the elephant merges with the landsacape. The colours in the sky provides the visual interest.
Composition wise, it would have been better if the elephant were facing the opposite direction that is towards the dramatic sky and were placed at the extreme left of the image.
