    I understand the concept. Often playing with shallow depth of field results in interesting compositions amid juxtapositions of colour. However, in this image, I find that though the red portion of the bud attracts attention due to the force of the colour, it seems to be lacking in critical focus.

    Less of space all around will also help. Thanks for sharing.

    Different compositions. The red colour is striking. A vertical composition would also work. Thanks for sharing.

    The shallow DOF looks good. I agree that a vertical would also look better. A bit more sharpness would have been better. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice use of shallow DOF. I like the horizontal compo, but would also like to see a vertical one.
