    Default Crested Serpent Eagle

This was shot in Debrigarh at 6:20AM.

I preferred to keep the focus on the plumage in this one. Have another shot with focus on the eye, however I liked this better.

    Comments and Critiques welcome.

    This is full frame.

The eye contact is nice. The light was bad else more DOF would have helped to get the eye in focus too. The feathers look good. Wondering why the branch on the right near the bark seems a bit different. Would like to see the other version too. Thanks for sharing.

Mrudul, I guess that has happened due to using 100% recovery. Reposting with recovery at 0 to compare. It is there in the RAW file as well as in other images in the series. I wonder why it looks doubled as such!!! This was processed in Lightroom 2.7 only.

Nice shot. Lovely pose. Wish you had got it at eye level . I agree about the branch.

P.S. I didnt quite understand what you mean by "0 and 100% recovery"... ?

Recovery is a tool in Lightroom which helps recover to some extent, highlights which have touched the right side of the histogram edge. ie blown.
There is a slider for adjusting the same from 0% to 100%.

A higher depth of field would have been better here. Unfortunately the shutter speed was low. The wings have come out well. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
