    Default Sunset - Lakshwadeep

This was not exactly a sun set, but around 4:00 PM when the sun was just beginning to dip towards the ocean, creating this reflective pattern against the boat.

A very thought provoking image. The boat almost looks capsized, with the deck abnormally above water. But the guys on boat convey a different emotion! They seem to declare to the ocean of their invincibility.

About the image; am wondering about the color of the sky? why did the image come that way? I have heard waves are notorious for spoiling the exposure and metering. Is that the cause here?

The picture is untouched, not even cropped. Only shrunk in size for a download. The water is that of the lagoon and hence there are very small ripples and not much of waves (the waves are stopped by the coral reef which is visble on the horizon)

The color of the sky is a direct impact of the Apreture. As i said, it was not exactly sunset. The evening light had a golden glow to it, which was further emphasised by the F16 apreture. A higher shutter would have futher darkened the image.

Most of the fishing boats are just above the water level, especially when they return with the catch. Even the glass bottom boats for Coral watching do take in some amount of water, which is periodicallly scooped out.

    Rajan,
In landscape photography it is important to see that the horizon doesn't divide the image into two halves. Though you haven't placed the horizon at the centre, the interesting part of the image is the texture. The sky portion is not interesting. So cropped more of the sky.
