Good to know that you are shooting even though you have shifted to Hyderabad.
The background is nicely diffused and helps in the subject standing out clearly.
When you are closer to the subject, depth of field becomes less. So a f8 here will give you less depth of field than when you were clicking the birds in hessarghatta.
Including the full leg or completely avoiding it would have been better. If you would have included the full leg, then the depth of field at f8 would not have been sufficient as there is a considerable distance between the leg and the body. So Abhishek's idea of moving the camera to the top and right would have been better as you would have avoided the lower body which is angled into the frame and the head portion was parallel to your camera.
