    Default Harem of the King

    Taken with Canon 400D 100-400 L IS Lens
    SS:1/500s, F6.1, ISO 200, AP, F Length 400mm
    This photograph is of the harem herd or territorial herd with one territorial male and females with all age groups.

    There are 5 different categories of herd structures and social groupings of black bucks.
    1 Mixed herd formed by males and females of different age groups.
    2 Harem herd or territorial herd with one territorial male and females with all age groups.
    3 Bachelor herd of all male members.
    4 Herd of all female groups.
    5 Lone adult male (wandering).

    Nice composition. You could have tried using a narrower aperture. The eye contact is nice as all are looking in the same direction. Thanks for sharing the information. Look forward to more.

    Good to see a blackbuck herd. It is good that you got most of them parallel to the frame. I agree that a narrow aperture would have been even better. The shutter speed of 1/500 is fine, as one of these may make a sudden movement and you are ready to capture it. Increasing the ISO would have also helped. Thanks for sharing the info and the image.
