I had been wanting to see this for a long time. Finally found it on our neighborhood mango tree.
The caterpillar aligns the yellow line on it's body with the midrib of the mango leaves for camouflage. The spines are spread wide and correspond to the veins on the leaf. It never eats too much of the leaf it is on to maintain it's camouflage.
On the right is it's old skin that has been shed.
