Sharp. The eye contact and the colours are nice. Wish you could have included the legs in full. The background is nicely diffused. Look forward to more. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to IndiaWilds! Nice snap to get started. Beautiful surrounding and head turn. BG is nicely diffused. Wish the grass blade was not in between. You could have used narrower aperture to get the head in sharp focus too.
7D is an amazing camera for bird photography. Keep clicking & posting!

Hi Ajit,
Nice first post. Where was this photographed? I like the way the head is framed by the vegetation. The reflection has also come out well like a painting. Wish you had more space at the bottom, as the human eye always wants to look for the full body parts. In psychology it is known as the closure effect. The other manifestation of the closure effect is that till the time you complete a job, you feel restless.
A vertical composition would have also looked nice. If this is the first shot in the 7D, I am sure we will be able to see many good shots in the future. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more.
Cheers,
Sabyasachi

It is painful to write the site as it no longer exists. Yes, it is Uran near JNPT, Maharashtra
Your guidance for photograph is helpful for me to learn more and more about bird photography.
