    Default Makhana

    A Makhana in the dry forest. He is feeding on bark from fallen trees. As he does not have tusks he cannot de-bark trees like Tuskers do. Note the musculature of the trunk.

    Nice, neat image. Well composed, sharp and shows the habitat well. The image signifies that it is summer and that sort of explains the makhna's dependence on bark. I like this image, and personally have a soft spot for makhnas

    I agree with previous comment. The image depicts the season and the adaptation of the elephant.

    I like the muscular trunk... makhnas have more muscular trunks than their counterparts... nice image
