    Default My First Frogmouth!

My first frogmouth snap. Just can't express what I felt when we first heard its call in total darkness. Remember its call is good enough to scare anyone in pitch dark! My friend spotted it within thick branches and thus I got my first shot using couple of maglights. I have few better ones, which I will post later.

Clicked near Goa in summer of 2010, EOS 7D, 400mm f/5.6, f/5.6, 1/60, ISO 2500, Handheld. The bird is more rufous but is appearing whitish due to the torch light.

    Great!

Yet to click this beauty. The eye has come out well despite the light. Clicked near any sanctuary? I was to go to thattekad last year but changed plans to spend more time on my filming. Hope to click this one in the near future. Did you get to see it in daylight? You did well handholding it at a low shutter speed. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,

Rare bird to photograph. Lovely sighting. The eye contact is nice. The vertical composition looks good. Well captured. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Amazing shot Tushar. A rare capture indeed. I thought these are more often sighted in thattekad only, never knew about their existence in Goa. Where in Goa do you see this beauty. Congrats on this sighting
