Sigma 150-500 OS problem

I have a Sigma 150-500 OS Lens Canon Mount and i have a unique problem when i try to shoot the camera mentions Error 01, please clean the lens contacts with the camera. I cleaned but of no use tried with my 1000d and 550D and the same error message in both the cameras.

Also lately i found that the camera captures images indoors or in normal lighting situations. But when we focus a subject which is in bright light this error message pops up. Any solutions or suggestions is welcomed

You can gently wipe the contacts with a soft cloth. However, don't go beyond that as I think the problem is with the lens. The issue would be resolved with the change of a minor module.

I am not sure if the service quality of Sigma has improved in India. I think they have a service centre in Bombay. You have to check. I guess cost should not be more than 4-5000 rupees.
