Nice image. Seems the light was quite bad. What time was this photographed. A slight off centered composition with less space on the right would have been good. I think 1/8000 shutter speed was not needed for this composition, a lesser ISO would have sufficed. Giving a +ve exposure compensation would have been good. Thanks for sharing.

The darkened profile of the pelican doesnt seem appealing as the background is also dark. If the pelican was against the light, then it would have formed a silhouette and would have looked good. There is something strange happening at the bottom, with the out-of-focus line.
