    Shot this yesterday afternoon in banjara hills, hyderabad.

    canon 60D
    canon 100-400 L IS
    handheld

    f5.6, 1/800sec, ISO 200, EV +0.7, 400mm, cropped.

    How much I wish I had used f8!!

    I guess the background is a wall and the crop is on the larger side. So your exposure, despite the +2/3 EV dialed in, did not expose the bird well. I don't mind blowing out the walls, as that doesn't add to the image here.

    The eye contact is nice. The calling pose is good. ISO 400 and f8 would have been good. Cover yourself in a green cloth and stand patiently near the bush. It will help you in moving close. Thanks for sharing. Keep on trying as these are close to you. Try, Try and Try and you will get a fantastic shot without cropping.

    The perch and the eye contact is nice. Wish it was closer to you. The calling pose looks nice. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice image of this little bird, agree that you need to get as close as possible. Also these birds don't remain at one place and are hyperactive

    Lovely moment captured.....Camoflague shirt or t shirt really woks with this bird....i took a few shots from 3 metres today....
