    Default Langur Pose

    Common Langur shot in Matheran.
Shooting conditions were a bit tricky, with the sun being opposite me and no direct light on the langur. I liked the pose in this image. Opened up the shadows to some extent.

Canon EOS 500D, Canon 100mm Macro USM
    Aperture-Priority AE
    Tv 1/80
    Av 5.6
    EC -1/3
    ISO 800
Full frame image, shot hand held.

[Note that Common Langurs have been reclassified into 7 distinct species since 2001 (I was not aware of this earlier) - Gray langur - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ; further citation here- http://pin.primate.wisc.edu/factshee...ry/gray_langur . So as per the revised classification, this one is a Southern Plains Grey Langur Semnopithecus dussumieri]

    Thanks, C&C welcome.

You got a nice pose. You have made full use of the 100mm macro lens. It is a sharp lens and can be used for these kind of situations as well as for large mammals like elephants.

    Cheers,

Nice pose captured. The details are nice. The vertical composition looks good. I would have liked a bit more space at the bottom as the legs are nearly touching the frame. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing the information. Look forward to more.

    Thanks...
Mrudul: I agree about the space... I had not noticed the legs while clicking. I'm counting myself fortunate that I at least got them in.
