    My apologies! The picture posted previously is shot by my friend and not by me.

    I was able to make that out only from the EXIF details. Please find below one of the pics shot by me.

    Snails make a patient and interesting subject....especially if you are a beginner .

    Nice image. Is this a crop? You could add a bit more space from the top to the bottom. Do post the EXIF details like the aperture, ISO, shutter speed to help in commenting. Thanks for sharing.

    Your image is much better . This is Indrella ampulla, a species endemic to the south Western Ghats rainforests. Feeds on mushrooms. More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indrella_ampulla
    It is good that you could get most of the snail in focus.

    The low angle is nice. The colours look good. You could have tried with it more parallel to the sensor to get more of it in focus. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more.
