A lovely first post. I love pied kingfishers. I had some full frame shots during my slide days. But don't have any after shifting to digital.

Please post the complete exif details, ISO etc as that would help in commenting better. Is it full frame or cropped?

The white portions in the neck is a bit bright and has lost details. You can recover that in post processing.

What was the shutter speed? Were you handholding? The eye appears to be sharp. However, some more sharpness would have been good. This image would also work in vertical.

I looked at the picture again and thought of adding this. I think the plane of focus is the eye and the feet. The depth of field is shallow so the breast portion which is a bit infront of the eye is not in focus. Overall a nice image.
