    Aditya,
This is your best till date. Absolutely lovely. How did you get that white background? Where was it photographed?

I would like the feathers a little bit more black.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Thanks! Actually circumstances forced me shoot this image in this manner. The only way to go closer to the bird was to drive up to it against the light. So I just took the only way I had and tried to get the exposure right by using my best skills with spot metering and over exposure. I really didn't have much hope from the series of images I made this way, but turns out that they have ended up looking good :-) I guess breaking away from the rules helps, sometimes.

    Cheers,
    Aditya

    Great shot Adi,

Lots of details preserved in extremely difficult situation too. But I would love a tad bit underexposed and bit more contrasty to have the main subject of interest standing out.

Among all species, this one mostly hovers on the water for long time till it gets any target.

Let me add some interesting info about kingfishers.

Their eyes have a facility similar to polarising filters and it can cut reflections from water.

Wow! I didn't know that.... no wonder they can spot fish under water while hovering high above.
