Default Intermediate Egret with wide open bill

    Hi,

Shot this in Pune. Was able to get closer on this occasion.

After observing this bird resting on the perch for quite some time was able to capture this moment. Appeared as if it was clearing its throat. Had never seen the tongue of this bird so clearly before.

    Please critique.

It seems you got the bird in its regular perch. The eye contact is fine. The tongue looks like a chilli (mirchi). thanks for sharing.

The photograph shows most of the features of an Intermediate Egret. The eyes, bill, gape and tongue well documented. However,I am not able to find any feathery aigrettes hanging in the front. Thanks for sharing.SaktiWild

Good that you got it closer this time. The perch and the eye contact is nice. Nice that you could capture some interesting behavior. Thanks for sharing.
