    Default Juvenile Brahminy Kite

Photographed this last week at Ranganathittu from a boat. I wish the overhead leaf was not present. Couldn't avoid it as the boat kept moving.

    Canon 50D, 100-400mm L IS USM, ISO 400, f6.3, 1/400, hand held, full frame

    Comments and critiques welcome..

Nice looking youngster. Agree that avoiding the leaf would have been better. Did you make more images with the head turn was more prominent, as in, with full eye contact of just one eye?

Bhargava, it was quite near and as I was in boat, we crossed it very quickly. So managed to just get only 3-4 clicks.

Nice eye contact. I agree with you regarding the leaf near the head. I have seen that a few boat rowers (or do they call them drivers these days?) don't give attention to the photographers needs and don't try to stop when they see a bird. Thanks for sharing.

Till a few months ago, getting an entire boat for oneself was pretty economical , so we always used to do that. In that way, the boatman would stop the boat for any length of time we asked him for, till we got our images However, in recent times, the prices have been increased by about 4 times, so I do Ranganthittu only when I have company I feel going in the common boat with other people is more frustrating than rewarding
