    Default EF400mm f/5.6L USM Reviews?

    Hi all,

I am planning to buy EF400mm f/5.6L USM for my EOS 550D.

Will it be a good decision?
    Plz Help!

    Thanx in advance!

    Himadri,
It is a good lens. It is light and one can easily handhold it. It is a L series lens. In Canon's nomenclature" L" denotes Luxury and it is a sharp lens.

Before I comment further, I would like to know what will be your intended use? Whether you are primarily going to use it for mammals, large birds, small birds etc

I am mainly looking forward to photograph mammals and larger birds.

Himadri, 400mm f5.6L is a is a very good lens for the price. I have been using it with my 600D and my experience has been very satisfying.

Its light and the image quality is good. Being a prime lens you'll have to deal with the challenges that come your way when subject is close to you.
