    Default Broken tail weathered wings!!!

Was in lonavla over the weekend when I saw this black kite hovering over. It seemed to be interested in something near the place I was staying. I waited for about 30mins but the heat got the better of me and I decided to move back in. But this fellow didnt give up. After about an hour the bird moved out of range.

Nikon D3100, f/5.6, SS 1/1250, ec +.3, focal length 300mm. cropped a bit. Light was really harsh and I was clicking right over my head.

Nice wing spread. Good eye contact and catch light. I think a horizontal composition would have looked fine too. Thanks for sharing.

Nice eye contact and pose. Damaged tail and wing so well documented.

Any damage to the tail or wings will impact the aerodynamics significantly. These are often adventurous and dive to take food items. I saw one got hit by a speeding car. With cars at 100plus kmph at times these birds are unable to judge the speed of the approaching vehicles.
