A slight head turn towards you would have enhanced the eye contact further. As it is a crop, you can keep a bit more space at the top. Some more sharpness would be good. Where was the AF point? Thanks for sharing.

What was the shutter speed? It seems the shutter speed was low and it turned its head when you clicked. Some more space at the top would have been better.
