    Default A Gulmohar Dream!

This was shot enroute Nandi Hills last Sunday. I wanted a slow shutter speed experiment to get an oil on canvas feel.

    Canon EOS 7D, 17-40 f/4L at 29mm
    SS 1/4 sec
    f/22
    ISO 100

    Comments and critiques welcome.

    Bibhav,
    Good attempt.

    1. You have to plan your pan ie. the start and end point.

    2. If any well defined object - like the tree at the bottom - is in the image, then the eye goes there. So position of that object in the frame is important.

    3. In this case the bright red area is in the centre. In pans without well defined subjects, through the colours (bright) and lighting you attract attention. So placement of the colours/bright areas needs to be given more thought.

    4. Personal preference is a bit more flowing lines. That will come when you keep on panning.

    Good luck for future experiments.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi
PS: Gulmohur is an exotic species.

Thanks for the Critique Sabyasachi. I had composed it slightly off. You are Right as the light is more prominent on the central portion it gives a static feel even in a pan image

Didn't know Gulmohar was an Exotic. Thanks for the info!

Nice experiment. The red color looks nice. Thanks for sharing.
