    Welcome to IndiaWilds!

You can post about you in the Who's Who section so that members can know you better. Who's Who - Indiawilds: Land of the Tiger. Conservation, Wildlife Photography, Communities

Posting the details of camera, lens, aperture, ISO, shutter speed and the amount of crop (if any) would help us in critiquing the image better.

This seems to be a regular perch. Some more space at left and top would have strengthened the image. Thanks for sharing.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

    Welcome to IndiaWilds..!!

The perch and the eye contact is nice. Is this a crop? Do post the equipment and EXIF details. Thanks for sharing.

Appears to be a Cattle Egret to me.The Size, the shape of head, bill, crouch everything suggestive of Cattle Egret-Bubulcus ibis.

Thank you all. This is a slightly cropped image, not much, just to remove a branch of the dead tree. It was clicked by a Nikon D3100 camera with a Tamaron 70-300mm lens.
@Ragoo Rao, the bill seems to be longer than that of a cattle egret, plus the size of the bird made it feel like its an intermediate egret.
