    nice timing and a lovely image...guessing it might have sat on the branch and you must have shot it as it took off...the feathers seem to give a red indian crown effect

    Good one. 1/2500 shutter speed would have been good in this case. Ofcourse, the blurred wing tips gives an idea that it has taken off from the branch. I saw couple of these in Bandhavgarh but they were far off and beyond my range. Where was this clicked? Thanks for sharing.

    Lovely capture at the right time. Love it even more because this is one of my most favourite birds. I'm curious to know , however, why the wing tips, and especially the branch, are blurred even at this high shutterspeed.

    thanks all..
    shot this in bandhavgarh. Iam not sure about exact place....
    Abhishek, I think the blur may be becasue I moved my camera to follow bird, sort of panning
