    rajan, r u sure the beak is not sharp due to low shutter speed, or is it out of focus due to super closeup?

    Hi Arpan

    Could be either, but i tend to sway towards the Shutter Speed for the Aperture here is not the minimum on the 150-500 (which is 6.3).

    At F8, the DOF is quite decent enough to get a clear coverage of the body and the beak. So, I tend to believe that unless this is a big crop, the SS could impact the details.

    The other factor that adds to details and clarity is the stability (either on a strong tripod or a beanbag) at low shutter speeds . . . .

    rajan, thanks for the review...it may also be the cause, the camera was handheld on a boat in low light...
