Nice image of the Pied Kingfisher, Sucheth. We don't get to see these in and around Mumbai. Have seen a lot of these in Africa too. Would have liked a little more space at the bottom. Did you shoot this in aperture priority or shutter priority? With the D7000 I have noticed in shutter priority, light has to be really good else the images turn out dark. Considering not too many changes between the D7k and D7100, wanted to know if you also have noticed this phenomenon. With the 300mm f4 and 1.4x tc I have noticed even in aperture priority if the focus is locked the shutter speed is increased automatically resulting is speeds like 1/1600 or 1/1250.Thanks for sharing.

Nice sighting of this pied kingfisher, flying low over the water. The reflection makes the image more interesting. Was it a sudden sighting? You could have increased the ISO to 400 or 500 for a still higher shutter speed to get more details. Nicely captured. Thanks for sharing.

Nice one. I think he is using ISO 160 instead of ISO 400 to get low noise so that he can crop. The ISO 160 thing was started by people who found that in video that results in low noise. A simple dark screen test would give a good idea about the ISO with lowest noise level.
