    Default Indian Edible Nest Swiftlet--Bhadra

These little birds roosts in caves from dusk to dawn, use echo location in the dark to find their way,and cling to rough surfaces. All their four toes are directed forwards so they cannot perch like other birds. They have a bat like flight. Their nests which are put together with saliva, are commercially exploited as a culinary delight by many oriental cultures. Canon 60D+100-400mm 1/160s ISO500 F4.5 FL100mm.Bhadra feb 2014 evening.

Nice sighting. The light was bad, else using a narrower aperture would have helped to get more details in the bark. Agree a eye contact would have strengthened the composition further. Thanks for sharing the information.
