    Default Rose Finch

Spotted a lot of Rose Finches in Kedarnath and Tunganath. The females are sober and brown while the males are bright rose/pink. Quite a common sight in high altitudes.

    Did you visit Kedarnath temple?

Lovely bird. The eye contact is fine. A bit more brightness would have been great. What is the blue structure in the background? Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Nice perch and good eye contact. Slight less space on the right would have helped to remove the blue structure in the background and also helped to get an off centered composition. Thanks for sharing.

Sabyasachi: I did visit the kedarnath temple. We took a chopper from Phata to Kedarnath, its a 7 minute ride. The roads are not good enough for trekking, however many who couldn't afford the chopper ride(7500 INR) did trek from Soneprayag. Due to the disaster last year the trek route has increased to 22 KM one way. The government has tried to do as much as possible but with the bad weather it was still a risk trying to walk to kedarnath.

The blue background are the make shift structures created near the temple at Kedarnath. This picture was taken just outside the temple. Couldn't avoid it.
