Default Close Encounter with Dhikala Tiger Family (6)

    Nikon D 700, 300mm f2.8, 1/250s

One of the female cubs rushed out of the elephant grass and started chasing the far end deer as can be seen in the post (Close Encounter with Dhikala Tiger Family (5)) . It was a scene to watch the predator and the prey, the chase went on for about 150 m. The female cub gave her full throttle and could see her accelerating. Finally, the deer survived.

Lovely action captured. Good you got both the predator and the prey in the open. The raised tail of the deer can be seen clearly. Liked the display of the habitat. Thanks for sharing.

This is a very valuable lesson for the adolescent tigers. Through these adventures they will know their real strength. Tigers are stalk and ambush predators for a reason.
