Great to sight both the male and female hornbills. Lovely eye contact from both. Looks lile they were a bit far. The vertical composition works well here. Nice capture. Thanks for sharing.
Sighting these majestic birds fills us with joy. When sunlight falls on their eyes, they glow nicely. For laying eggs and rearing the offspring, the female shuts itself inside a tree and the male feeds it. Some tribals keep an eye on the nesting and then later catch the female. One tribal said it tastes like chicken. Can't vouch for that. However, their numbers are getting impacted due to such poaching as well as destruction of their habitat. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely image. It is sad that these majestic birds are poached. They are even poached for their horns, which are worn by tribal people during festivals. Thanks for sharing.
