Nice image of the alert sambar calling. The caption would have been appropriate if the tail was up and /or the sambar stumping. The truly alarmed state is seen in your attached video with tail up , stumping the foreleg and famous ' dhonk ' call. Where is your 'comfortable' deer ?Thanks for sharing. SaktiWild

Sambar call , in my opinion is a confirmed presence of big predator and in this case certainly tiger.
BUT sometimes it is observed that sambar gives alarm call even on smell or sometimes from any un-predictive movement.
