Nettapus coromandelianus.

A breeding pair in typical habitat. Water lilies are a preferred food source. This was shot in Jan 2011, didn’t get to see them this winter. Cutting down of old trees in the cavities of which they nest is taking its toll on the populations of this little duck....

Nice you could photograph this species. I liked the habitat displayed. With the shrinking habitat I think we will slowly loose these birds. Thanks for sharing.
