    Default Pitta ?

    Looks like a Pitta ?

A slight crop to remove a branch on the left corner. Just before sunrise . . created after the Black Kite on the way to Pallikarnai as well

400D, 1/800, F 6.3, 400 ISO (actually forgot to stoop the ISO back to 100 or200 after the Black Kite shot :-) )

    regards
    Rajan

Well, it's not a pitta by any standard. Looks like a lark or pipit, I can't tell from this picture.

You are right Apana, The Salim Ali guide states that this is the rufouswinged or Jerdon's bushlark (Mirafra affinis).

    Thanks.

Nice eye contact. I think you can reduce the contrast a bit.Liked the perch.
